It was the night he had been looking forward to for weeks and no one ever really believed him. It was the night of the inlaws gathering and party!

Nothing was allowed to get in the way of these inlaws nights. They had cost him jobs and relationships but those things were temporary, so who gave a fuck about them. An evening of hilarity, a moment of pure lol and crying with laughter was worth more than material things.

The inlaws were nearly all religous but they were also fairly normal and bloody funny! These parties were positive feedback creating the perfect storm of hilarity and with no illegal drugs.

Years later he realised that the inlaws parties reminded him of family parties of his youth. the old parties did seem to be more innocent, people being silly and enjoying themselves. trying to be entertained while entertaining and if being silly was your contribution to the whole then so be it.

the normal inlaws party host of the night was a minister. He didnt mind the odd risque laugh as long as the joke was slightly rude, not crude.

On this night the minister had his special gift of Tongues, not that all his congregation would have appreciated it but those at the inlaws party did.

me being silly!

He had never been religous and they had not really tried to convert him or converted him ... yet. They did have a black sheep in the family, Boring Barry the accountant. The man with Super Conductor skin when it came to humour, being silly and having a good time. Humour seemed to flow through him with no resistance, no glow or reaction, no matter what the temperature or energy of the inlaws funny nights.

But the morphic field of everyone at this particular inlaws party was to strong, perhaps Barry's resistance had finally built up, like constructive interference, and he lit up. He was a revealation that night. Unstoppably funny, outrageous, immense, human.

We got on like Waco that night. Bouncing off each other, contstructive waves indeed. I don't know many jokes, find them hard to remember, but I told the couple I knew night to barry that night.
